Photobiomodulation / Low-level Light Therapy
What is photobiomodulation?
Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) is the current technical term for Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT). It is a light therapy using lasers or LEDs to improve tissue repair, reduce pain and inflammation. Blood irradiation therapy began when scientists in Russia, Germany and China carried out research on everyday people and athletes regarding the effects of light energy of specific wavelengths and power density on blood.
At the cellular level, visible red and near infrared light energy stimulates cells to generate more energy and undergo self-repair. Each cell has mitochondria, which perform the function of producing cellular energy called adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Mitochondria are the energy factories that exist within almost every cell in our body.
The intranasal devices combine solid state technology along with intranasal diodes built from transparent high-impact polycarbonate to ensure quality and durability.

This device utilizes a low level (or “cold”) laser diode to release coherent light in the visible red spectrum (655 nm), powered by a calculated dosage of energy to irradiate the capillary-rich nasal cavity.
The laser beam footprint targets the nasal cavity, which is rich in blood capillaries. The device parameters have been derived from researching clinical studies on low level light therapy over the last few decades. Although many researchers now believe that the outcomes between low level laser and the non-laser light emitting diodes (LED) to be similar, the laser light should penetrate deeper into the tissues.
Designed to stimulate the circulatory, immune and endocrine systems. Can be used alone or together with the 810 nm Intranasal.

The 810 nm near infrared wavelength enables photonic transmission past the intranasal channel to the deep ventral brain areas. Neurons are well-suited for photobiomodulation because they contain mitochondria.

This device can be used in combination with 633 nm.
The 810 nm is used for gentle brain stimulation and can be used everyday.

The Vielight Neuro 3 and Neuro 4 is the world's first transcranial / intranasal photobiomodulation system. Designed primarily for brain photobiomodulation, this device emits pulsed near infra-red (NIR) light energy with advanced microchip LED technology and sends pulsed NIR photons through the cranium to the cerebral cortex.
